Primitive Backpack Camping

Camping is allowed at the designated primitive backpack sites for $13.00/night. Permits and reservations are required. Reservations must be made online. All participants must sign liability waivers. Parent/Guardian signatures are required for any person under 18 years of age. Campers can stay no longer than 7 consecutive nights within a 30-day period. The campsites are carry-in/carry-out facilities. There are no restrooms at the sites. Fires are allowed ONLY at the Grindstone Camping Site in the designated area. Fires are NOT allowed at the Hollow Rock Camping Site. Rocky Face Mountain Recreational Area and/or the NC Forest Service reserve the right to ban campfires due to dry or windy weather.
